About Chef Hisham

Hisham Abdelfattah is owner and executive chef of El Halal Amigos and is one of this year's 40 Under 40 Awards honorees.

The Palestinian, Filipino chef created El Halal Amigos' food truck in 2020. The idea of combining excellent quality Halal meats with authentic Mexican cuisine took off immediately.

Since opening day, El Halal Amigos' food truck has been a huge hit, quickly leading Hisham and his partners to expand their menu and open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Willow Glen. Over the years, Hisham's closest Latin friends have influenced his deep appreciation for Mexican food and culture. He often travels to Mexico aspiring to continually create menu items inspired by these trips.

Hisham is committed to keeping El Halal Amigos authentic by embracing flavors from the farm lands of Zitacuaro Michoacan to the street-style cooking techniques of Nayarit.

CHEF HISHAM AND HIS TEAM GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE AMAZING FOOD. THEIR FOOD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! AUTHENTIC TASTE AND THE OVERALL VIBE IS SO NICE. THE CHICKEN TACOS AND NAR-CHOS WERE FANTASTIC! DEFINITELY WILL BE COMING BACK 100%

THEIR SPECIAL SAUCE/SALSA IS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD AND SUPER FLAVORFUL. MY BURRITO WAS REALLY GOOD AS SOON AS I BIT IT, IT WAS LIKE SOMETHING I NEVER TASTED BEFORE I IMMEDIATELY TASTED THE QUALITY WHICH I GUESS MADE PRICE WORTH IT LOL.
